Bachelor of Ecotourism and Hospitality Management Admission Criteria

• Individuals should obtain the minimum admission requirement for Universities.
• In addition, the individual should obtain a minimum of C (plain) in Mathematics, grade of C+ in Biology or a grade of B- in Biologcal Sciences, a grade of C (plain) in Chemistry, a grade of B- in Geography or History and Government, and a minimum of grade C+ in English or Kiswahili in KCSE.

Duration and Cost of the Course

The Bachelor of Ecotourism and Hospitality Management course takes place in four academic years. Each semester is scheduled to cover fifteen weeks with two weeks put aside for students to undertake examinations. Students in year 3 undergo eight weeks industrial attachment once they have completed the second semester. Students are required to pay KSh110, 000 per year for the four academic years that the course takes.

Biotechnology is a field that tries to produce useful products from living organism while bioinformatics is another field of knowledge that deals with development of software’s which is then used to generate important biological use.     iii.            The applicants with second class lower division degree in science, engineering, and agriculture should have at least two years experience.

• Master of Science in Bioinformatics: agriculture and Medical Bioinformatics.

This course also takes a minimum of two years and has the same minimum admission requirement as Master of Science in Biotechnology.

• Doctor of Philosophy in (PhD) in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

This is a course work and takes three years. The admission requirement for this course includes:

        i.            Applicant must be a holder of a Master of Science degree in biological and physical sciences, bioinformatics, biotechnology, medicine and surgery, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and dental surgery at the University of Nairobi.

      ii.            Applicant must be able to draw and submit a detailed doctoral research proposal in the prescribed manner at the time of applying for admission at the University of Nairobi.

In Kenya, majority of the people or population are Christians.
