YU Is The Worst Mobile Network In Kenya

Kenya has four legally and fully operating mobile networks. Safaricom in Kenya is dominating the mobile network industry. Kenyans must admit that the mobile network industry is the most challenging industry ever. For instance mobile operators are accused in Kenya of not reporting “matapeli” making many Kenyans lose their money out of these malicious acts. ‘Matapeli’ in Kenya refers to the many conmen who keep calling or writing SMSs to rob off Kenyans money. It is also believed these mobile operators hold some evidence on the last 2007 violence in Kenya. The reasons why the mobile operators in Kenya do not report these acts is maybe they value their customers!

Come on Kenyans we are talking about the most annoying mobile network not the most expensive, so before we continue can you get Safaricom out of your mind?

Its true sometimes Safaricom can be annoying, like just that time between 7-9pm when the internet seems to go on a break. You can also mention that once in a blue-moon when a US dignitary decides to visit Kenya or any neighbouring country, the mobile networks seem to become non-functional till the dignitaries visiting East Africa go back to their home.

There is also this time of the month when the M-pesa services in Kenya breaks down. But Safaricom is not like a chocolate craving woman, at least you know when she will strike, or is it he? I would go with it.

There is this mobile network called Airtel in Kenya. Is this its current name? This company is like a teen on Facebook. Airtel keeps changing names more than I change my vest. It was Kencell then Celtel, Zain then now it’s Airtel. I think next it will be Bollocks or something of the sort. This mobile network in Kenya is not that good in choosing names.

Airtel annoys its customers in Kenya, by the way, what’s with their a thousand messages per day. But their internet services in Kenya are good and fast.

Not much is known about Orange mobile network in Kenya, but it’s more popular with its internet service through modems. I won’t talk about Orange mobile network much for the simple reason; there is no much to say.

You have to agree with me the Queen /King in the Mobile network most annoying is YU in Kenya. The name itself can make you think twice. Okay, YU network in Kenya does what all the other networks do. YU keeps loosing network service, sends countless messages to customers and more. YU services need intensive upgrade in Kenya. YU internet bundles in Kenya are cheap though the phone is always loading; it makes you wonder why you bought a 3G/4G enabled phone.

If YU upgraded their services, all Kenyans would be satisfied, but I would be happier if they went out of business altogether. Is that cruel? I am an aggrieved Kenyan.

Retirement Benefit Authority: Just What Kenyans Need To Save For Retirement

Before the dawning of the Retirement Benefits Act in Kenya, many organizations and companies in Kenya got away with conning hardworking Kenyans. Pension plans in Kenya were not regulated, and sponsors in Kenya kept poor records of scheme members’ funds. Various schemes in Kenya adopted different styles of operation, and this wrecked havoc as the beneficiaries were marginalized. The result of a deregulated saving industry was poor management of finances and poor record keeping in Kenya. Cases of Kenyans who expected to receive their pension being told there was no money became the news of the day. As can be imagined, the heartache that accompanies such betrayal cannot be put into words.

Therefore, when the Retirement Benefits Act in Kenya came into existence, it was like a reprieve for many Kenyans. The Retirement Benefit Authority in Kenya became fully functional in October 2000, and it set the standards for retirement schemes. Retirement Benefit Authority in Kenya came into existence to reform the financial sector and ensure that retirement benefits reached their rightful beneficiaries. RBA is a regulatory body in Kenya, and as such there are various schemes registered as members. These schemes follow the rules and guidelines as stipulated by the Kenya Benefit Authority. This translates into transparency and accountability when dealing with retirement funds. Sponsors can no longer lament the lack of funds as they are required to be meticulous in their record keeping ensuring funds are readily available upon retirement.

The RBA website in Kenya, http://rba.go.ke/, has an extensive list of various schemes that are regulated by the authority. It has instructions on membership. It has details on what sponsors can do to join the RBA in Kenya, and it has excellent advice on how and why Kenyans should take the matter of their retirement very seriously. There are a number of advantages Kenyans can receive from joining a registered scheme. The obvious benefit is the assurance that their money is in good hands and will serve as pension in their old age. Registered schemes under RBA in Kenya have to meet set standards in the provision of quality services. They are not allowed to use members’ funds to start their own businesses and this means that upon retirement, the members do not have to wait for long to start receiving their benefits.

Saving for retirement in Kenya is advisable to all Kenyans. However, a good number of Kenyans are wary of retirement benefits schemes. No one wants to put money in a bottomless pit. This is why it is important for Kenyans to keep informed on legally registered schemes. Why not take time to peruse through the RBA website http://rba.go.ke/ in Kenya? Or visit Retirement Benefit Authority office in Kenya on Rahimtulla Tower, 13th Floor, Upper Hill Road in Upper Hill, Nairobi. When you think about it, every Kenya has to save up for retirement. Therefore, it is only prudent that you know your hard earned money is in safe funds and that it will be readily available to you when the time comes when you save with Retirement Benefit Authority in Kenya. You are the determiner of your future, and with RBA in Kenya regulating your retirement scheme, I would say you are on the right track.

Various Kenya Police Stations Where To Report Crime Within The Nairobi CBD Area In Kenya

Nairobi, Kenya’s capital is a vast city. As such, no one can really keep track of everything that happens in various parts of the city of Nairobi.  One thing that is for sure is that Nairobi is full of many unsolved crimes in Kenya. People are mugged, robbed, drugged and killed every other day both within the city of Nairobi and in the suburbs.  However, the fact is that crime rates in Kenya especially within the Nairobi CBD have been on an exponential rise over the past couple of years. Many people in Kenya are rather insecure when walking around the Nairobi city streets and especially in downtown Nairobi. When I talk about Nairobi downtown area, I mean the area after Tom Mboya Street downwards to Kirinyaga Road, River Road, Kariokor, Pumwani, Ziwani,  Kamukunji, Country Bus Station, City Market and even down to Jogoo Road around City Stadium in Nairobi.

However, much as crimes in Nairobi are experienced every other time, you still have an option of reporting crime cases in Kenya as a victim or a witness.  Reporting crimes to traffic police in Nairobi, who are manning various Nairobi roundabouts, might not be the best option for Nairobi residents. Most of the traffic police in Nairobi town will just send you to the nearest police station in Nairobi. In Nairobi town, there are various police stations and police posts where you can walk to and report a crime you witnessed within the city and see the police act on it.

Central Police Station in Nairobi

Central Police Station in Nairobi is perhaps the most popular police station in Nairobi today. In fact, many crimes occurring within the Nairobi CBD, and especially uptown Nairobi are reported at the central police station. Central Police Station in Nairobi is located along University Way just next to the University of Nairobi main campus. University Way in Nairobi is the road that enjoins Moi Avenue at the farthest end at Jevanjee Gardens in Nairobi town.  In fact, if you are at Jevanjee Gardens in uptown parts of Nairobi, and you ask someone for directions to Central Police Station in Nairobi, you will easily be directed. The good thing with Central Police Station in Nairobi is that, it is easily accessible from the city centre.

KICC Police Post in Nairobi

At the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi, there is also another police post where Nairobi residents can lodge their complaints. KICC Police Post in Nairobi has been in existence for many years now though not many Nairobi people know about it. Some people in Nairobi even tend to think that KICC Police Post in Nairobi is more of a preserve of the elite, politicians or the high class people in Kenya. Well, that is really not the case.  If you witness any crime in Nairobi city centre and you want to report it, you can feel free to go to the KICC police post.  You can access KICC Police Post in Nairobi through Harambee Avenue or City Hall Way in the city centre. Of course,  that depends on your personal preferences and restrictions put in place by the KICC management in Nairobi.

Parliament Police Post in Nairobi

Parliament Police Post in Nairobi is the other place you can go to if you want to report a crime in Nairobi that has happened within the city centre. Parliament Police Post in Nairobi city centre operates on a 24 hour basis. In fact the police post in Nairobi served me really well at one time when I got mugged within the city centre in the wee hours of the night. Parliament Police Post is near Parliament in Kenya. Parliament Police Post in Nairobi is located along Uhuru Highway and next to Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi and Sheria House in Nairobi. If you are accessing it from Haile Sellasie Avenue in Nairobi, you will have to use Parliament Road at Lap Trust Building in Nairobi.

Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi

If you happen to witness any crime in downtown Nairobi area, Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi is the right place to go to and report the crime. Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi is located at Kamukunji shopping centre in Nairobi, close to the Machakos Country Bus Station in Nairobi. Kamukunji police station serves a myriad of cases in a single day in Kenya. This is perhaps is the case at Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi because Gikomba in Nairobi and Machakos Country Bus are adjacent to it and they are known to be the hubs of crimes in Nairobi.  So, you now know where to turn to, just in case you happen to witness acts of crime within the Nairobi city centre.
