A mental-health doctor’s killing has produced three names, three stations and a month of closed doors. Milimani Chief Magistrate Paul Mutai allowed detectives to hold three suspects for 30 days over the fatal shooting of Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, Eastleigh Voice reported.
The suspects — police officer Elijah Kibelion Kimoi, Daniel Mwangi Njoroge and Kevin Ngugu Kinuthia — were arraigned after arrest on 7 August. Mutai ordered Kimoi held at Ruaraka, Njoroge at Pangani and Kinuthia at Gigiri. DCI argued release could compromise the file while accomplices remain at large, and that a serving officer could intimidate witnesses. An affidavit by Cpl Romana Odour of Homicide links the probe to the 29 July Upper Hill shooting. Police allege Kimoi fired the fatal shot; Njoroge drove a black Toyota Prado KDH 600A used to block Mutiso’s Toyota Passo; Kinuthia used motorcycle KMGZ 980D to drop and extract the alleged shooter. Two spent cartridges, two bullet fragments and a Mini Jericho pistol serial 47302127 were recovered for ballistics that police say preliminarily match.
