The boy was so tired he decided to tell the granny himself. When he told the granny, the boy was shocked  by the granny’s reaction. Granny told the boy that she had seen him many months ago hit the chicken which  died and added that she had forgiven him since it was not intentional. She told the boy that he has made himself a slave for those months. if he had told the granny the truth, he would have not been a slave for so long.

Tips On How To Embrace Happiness In Kenya

Ever asked yourself this question, “what was I meant to be?” we have all as Kenyans wrestled with the fact that we might not be in the job fields in Kenya we are supposed to be. Ever felt trapped in time and space like you should be somewhere else in a different place living a different life? We have all watched a movie, seen a picture or read a book, and we’ve said these words, “This is me. This is where I want to be”. We have envied other people’s situations, opportunities and experiences in Kenya, and we have thought that we could do more with the situation. If I had his money in Kenya, I would open a bar here. If I had her networks in Kenya, I would be so far right now. If I had his talent in Kenya, I would be the talk of this city. If I had her beauty I would do this, I would do that.

We always want to be at any place in Kenya but not here. We want a little more money, a little more then we think that we would be HAPPY. Happiness in Kenya is not measured by the material possessions since they can all be taken away. Happiness, however, is determined by contentment and experiences shared with friends and family in Kenya. Happiness might be brought by well earned success in Kenya and a sense of accomplishment, but it doesn’t end there, I believe that one is truly happy when one surrounds themselves with the right people in their life in Kenya. Its brought by accepting our situations and by making the best of it.

There so many tips that you can use to achieve happiness in Kenya and make your situation better. So many times we are stuck in a rut, In a situation so grim that all hope is lost and there’s no sign of redemption, but there’s always something to do. Evaluate your choices in your life in Kenya, and learn to accept what you have already. Kenyans should learn to celebrate all the small successes and goodness of life. These are just trenches of life in Kenya. In such times, its best to take a little time off. Relax a bit. Re-strategize a way out.

How Understanding Leads To Success In Kenya: Advice To Youths

“Failing to understand or understanding to fail “, get it right today.

Many Kenyans fail to be successful just because they failed to “understand “from the word go. Understanding is the most critical and most fundamental of components which allows for any changes in your life. Without understanding, there is nothing and no means to change your situationin Kenya. All means of achieving highly in Kenyan context rest within the mind and understanding is the foundation of all this. The Biblical Solomon did not pray or ask for wisdom as many think. But rather he asked for understanding. Because of understanding he became the wisest man that ever lived and also the richest man that ever lived. Most religious Kenyans believe in this biblical point of understanding. Below are some basic understandings to help Kenyans youths:

1. Understanding is fine

That is, when you truly understand something completely, it becomes almost as if it becomes a tangible and physical thing. This happens because your understanding has allowed you to change the way that you look at the world, and incorporate that understanding within that view. understanding all about your environment in Kenya is crucial.

2. Understanding is the way to achieve anything

If there is something which you can’t seem to do, it’s because your understanding isn’t there. If somebody can do something, you can also do the same and this is 100% guaranteed. All the Kenyans should so is to get to the same level of understanding as those who have achieved in Kenya do.

3. Understanding is a gradual process

You won’t understand everything straight away. In fact, you’re likely to not genuinely understand anything which someone tells you, even if you think you understand it. As you begin to apply the route to your goal, your understanding will begin to increase, and you will notice many things which you hadn’t even realized.

4. Understanding requires action

It doesn’t matter how much somebody says something to you, or how much you think you understand the topic. The only way to understand something truly is through action, because then you can at first hand, experience the true intricacy which make up the understanding of something. So whatever you think you understand is completely minor, in comparison to when you put your understanding into action.

What to Expect/Conclusion

It doesn’t matter how big a goal is, or how intricate and one-off it may seem. The key to all success and manifestation lies quite simply in understanding. So long as you have the understanding and apply it, you can get anything you want. Youths in Kenya should therefore seek understanding of things to gain more success in the future.

How To Overcome Monday Morning Blues:The Kenyan Way

Monday mornings are one of the most dreaded periods in Kenya, and more so in Nairobi. Students in Kenya don’t feel this effect as the working nation does.  A cold or rainy Kenya Monday morning is reason enough to make one call in sick. Again the opposite is true. There was an acronym coined some time, and it does rounds on social media every Friday, religiously! “T.G.I.F” which means Thank God It’s Friday is usually every working man’s update in Kenya. Most workingKenyans  always look forward to the weekend, to unwind and have at least 7 hours of sleep time.

Nairobi, with all the cars moving around is a traffic prone area. For reasons I would not understand, rain somehow always makes traffic worse in Kenya. On a rainy day, you can take thrice the time you normally take to get to a particular destination. It is also strange how the rain suddenly lengthens the distance travelled and you find yourself paying twice the normal fare. These are the challenges facing working residents of Nairobi City. You can now then imagine the hardships faced on a Monday morning after having a relaxed weekend in Nairobi.

There are a few things you can do to ease Monday morning blues anywhere in Kenya. The most important thing is to prepare yourself psychologically for Monday. You should tune your mind in such a way that you accept that Monday is here, and it will be there for the rest of your time. Time waits for no man, so it is up to you to condition yourself accordingly.

Ensure that you are set for Monday in Kenya. Put your things in order the night before. If you have to pick out the clothes to wear, do so on a Sunday night in Kenya. You could also do your ironing and polishing of shoes before you go to bed. This will ensure that you spend less time preparing in the morning. You will in turn have enough time to get to your   work station anywhere in Kenya and start off the week on a good footing.

Friday is only four days away anyway! With this mentality in Kenya, you will have something to look forward to all week.

WHAT LOVE IS

WHAT LOVE IS

by

I sometimes try to figure out about this thing called life and who controls it all. Life should and consists of everyday actions in our lives. Can life exist without love? We all need family love and support all the time. Though, there those who have survived it all without a family but they still have those persons who are always there for them. Well we have to consider that family isn’t always blood. Family can also refer to those people who want you in their lives and the ones who accept you the way you are. The ones who can do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what. People’s lives make sense and become fully fulfilled when they have such love. the assurance that someone somewhere thinks of you in a good way, wishes you good and will always be there for you is what most of want. And no, I don’t think life can become fully lived when one has no love in it.

What is this thing called love? Well love is all about having a kind heart. A heart that will always be willing to love, to look at the positive side of the other and encourage it, to overlook the weaknesses through accepting them and to put a smile on the other in everyday of their lives.

Some say love is blind, others say it is fulfilling while some regard love as offer of devotion and submission. I will define love from the perspective that love is a man or a woman who is blessed with the gift of looking beyond the physical features of the other, the faults and accepting them in such a way that one takes charge and wants to make a lasting promise to be faithful to that woman. Such men are few and far between to find especially these days where everything is losing meaning and all people care about is only instant gratification and pleasure. What happened to the love that our parents shared when they were little? Does it still exist? Do marriage vows seem to mean as much today as they used to? If you’ve heard anything about the increase in divorce rates, you may wonder. Well, probably just time can tell.

But what happens when one has God’s love with them? According to my opinion, when one seeks God’s love, care and support, one experiences this freedom which makes all problems that looked huge and irresolvable to become as small as ant hills. Life develops direction and now that one knows there is one supernatural being who controls their life, one gets comfort and confidence to face every day with this renewed energy. Well, people should also note that God loves us all equally- whether you have a relationship with him or not. In realizing this, then one can have that inner peace and be able to offer love to others in their lives.

We learn a lot through going experiences with love. You learn that even though you have unreturned love, you don’t have to hold grudges against anyone, since love is a pure, kind and giving act. Once a friend said to me that as long as you had good intentions, then the acceptance of your actions or not should not determine your attitude towards love. I concur with this in that pure hearts should always give and not expect anything back.

Well on another note, some say there is mature love and immature love. Here is the difference,

Immature love says, “I love you because I need you.”

Mature love says, “I need you because I love you.

If you get the difference do tell. Because am still on the search to tell what love is. Don’t be surprised but am not alone in this search, Singer Jeniffer Lopez is also asking what is love in her song ‘What is love’ which she produced in 2010.

Through the media especially soaps and movies, observing the lives of the celebrities, I tend to think we live under a massive cultural delusion about the nature of real love. We learn that from the time you’re born, you’re inundated with the belief that love is a feeling and that when you find “the one” you’ll sense it in your gut and be overcome by an undeniable sense of knowing. When the feeling and corresponding knowing fade (for the knowing is intimately linked to the feeling) and the work of learning about real love begins, most people take the diminished feeling as a sign that they’re in the wrong relationship and walk away. And then they start over again, only to find that the now-familiar knowing and feeling fade again and again and again. The media is deceiving when it comes to definition of what love is and since most of us depend on it and want to emulate our role models in the media such as actors or musicians and other celebrities, we end up in many relationships which we let go eventually for the reason that they are wrong. We never take time before engaging in relationships in the name of love at first site.

We need to realize that love is an action of willingness and having great tolerance. Love is learning your partner’s love language and then expressing love in a way that he or she can receive.Love is giving. Love is receiving. Love is plodding through the slow eddies of a relationship without jumping ship into another’s churning rapids. Love is recognizing that it’s not your partner’s job to make you feel alive, fulfilled, or complete; that’s your job. And it’s only when you learn to become the source of your own aliveness, happiness and are living your life connected to the spark of genius that is everyone’s birthright can you fully love another. Two emotionally stable persons make a healthy love relationship which is bound to succeed and last. Well, I could say now that I truly understand what love is. Just know that when your love is acting lovingly toward you, it’s natural for you to feel joyous, confident, smart and secure. So love is a beautiful thing in deed.

Women Problems in Kenya

Girls

Many girls in Kenya are experiencing a lot of hardships when it comes to having better lives and fulfilling their dreams and reaching their goals in life. It has come to the realization that the Kenyan girl is facing a lot of challenges that need to be addressed before they continue growing to levels that cannot be controlled. The following problems have been the most persistent in the life of young girls in Kenya.

FGM

Many cultures are still practicing the hugely condemned vice. It has come to the realization that many communities subject their girls to the harsh treatment before being considered to be full members of the community. The practice endangers the life of the child and in most cases will make them become prone to death. Lot of bloodshed during the practice makes one become unhealthy. It is therefore advisable by the government that any person that indulges in the practice to be reported and be subjected to punishment.

Early Marriages

The society is still endangering the lives of many girls by making them subjects to early marriages. Many numbers of ladies are forced to settle with people they don’t love and can hence result to the failure of many marriage institutions. It is important to safe guard young girls by providing adequate education for them and ensuring that they go to school so as they can get better jobs and careers for a bright future ahead.

Inequality

The girl child is often underrated by the society and most priorities go to the male child. It has come to the realization that male children are preferred by the society and hence the attitude has grown to levels that cannot be controlled. Girls are forced to remain at home doing the housework chores while their male counterparts are enjoying and living luxurious lives in the city. It is of great importance to have equal chances of gender in society.

Denial of freedom

It has come to the realization that very few ladies can do what they want and feel in the country. The male child is allowed to do a lot of things in life and grow without being disrupted by any group of parties. However, the opposite is true when it comes to ladies. They cannot be allowed to express themselves freely killing the potential in them by facing continuous discrimination by the society.

Tips On How To Gain Weight In Kenya

Everybody in Kenya is so engrossed in searching for tips on how to lose weight to gain that coveted shape. On the flipside, there are those underweight people in Kenya tormenting themselves with junk in a bid to weigh more, and add to the figure on that weighing scale. Most anorexic and underweight people in Kenya cannot really get tips on how to add to their weight. There are two ways to go about adding to those kilos in Kenya:

  • Eat to gain weight
  • Work out to gain weight

Eating to gain weight in Kenya

This method of eating to gain weight in Kenya is the easier of the two mechanisms, but just like in a bid to lose weight, you not only have to eat but to eat right. There are a few tips on how and what to eat to gain weight

Eat the right kind of fats

To give paunch and volume to that thin body frame maximize on avocados and other available dairy products in Kenya such as milk. Do not eat ice-cream and most certainly do not indulge in fast foods such as fries and burgers which are quite common in Kenya
Eat often

This applies to even those Kenyans who want to lose weight. Ensure that you eat at least five meals over the day. This does not mean junk and sugars but rather proteins and carbohydrates. You should focus on having calorie rich foods in Kenya. Keep off sugars found in soft drinks and opt for low fat milk instead. Remember, you want to be healthy at the end.
Eat foods high in protein

Protein is a building block for muscles, skin and bones and is as such an essential part of your diet. Most people believe that proteins help in building muscles, but this has been scientifically dismissed. Foods high in proteins in Kenya include eggs and meat. For the vegetarians, soy and beans are equal sources of proteins in Kenya.
 Layer on the carbohydrates

Carbohydrates in Kenya are the mains source of body energy. They help the body perform its functions. Complex carbohydrates are good for the body, but the simple ones should be avoided. Simple carbohydrates are stored in the body as fat and this not healthy for the body. Brown rice, potatoes and whole grains are examples of carbohydrates that should be eaten.
Eat late at night

A recent study in Kenya showed that people who eat late at night have higher body mass indices as compared to those who ate earlier in the night. This is probably because when you eat early, food is metabolized faster.

Work out to gain weight in Kenya

Exercise helps you build your appetite. You can do crunches and pull ups in the comfort of your living room. Cardio exercises also help to build muscles in Kenya. With time, you can invest in weights as your body will slowly adapt to the simple exercises.

With these simple to do tips, you will gain weight and still be healthy.

Share With Me Your Dream…The kenyan Dream

Share With Me Your Dream…The kenyan Dream

by

We all have our dreams, our wishes of the future and where we would want to be. I tend to think everyone has a positive dream and wants life to be a bit better in their dreams. Some of us manage to live up to their dreams and make it achieve them, but others lack the motivation that is necessary to dream bigger and to achieve big things in life. We all agree that one has to start somewhere. I tend to think that place is the dream one has.

It’s Never Too Late To Live Your Dream! Yes I have said it. You are just never too old; too depressed, neither are you too deep into the worldly issues to dream and to get turn your dreams into a reality. You should recognize that when God moves on your behalf, it’s just a matter of time before you will be living your dreams. I too have a dream.

Well, the other day I’m driving my Lamborghini Aventador to my charity foundation ‘The Fountain Of Hope’ in Westlands, Nairobi. On board are my two beautiful and curious eight and ten year old daughters and my husband. I am attending the celebrations of five years anniversary of the foundation. We are the guest of honours since we are the founders. I anticipated that my children would realize that one does not choose their destiny or our family to be born in. They have leant to be kind and to appreciate everyone they rub shoulders with in life from their parents. The foundation that I and my husband started make a home for all street children all over Kenya who need to access, care, basic needs and education just as any other child in this world. We utilize the best psychological doctors to give hope and turn around the lives of these children. Among the people in attendance for this ceremony are our caring sponsors from abroad. The event is a lot more fun and a blessing to all.

We later make our way to my family’s fashion house in the middle of the city. It’s marvellous how this place fills with people from all over a Kenya and tourists! Its site alone attracts our consumers. It’s a place where you can find the latest fashion designer clothes, liveries and shoes in this season, vehicles, home paraphernalia, office equipments and latest electronics. After all the thought behind this was to avail all you need in one roof. It first started with the latest fashion then progressed to a place where you can shop for everything you need. It’s a spacious place that can accommodate many shoppers at once and decorations that are found in this fashion house are spectacular. Ooh I’m getting carried away! We make a stop at the management section to find out how the place is doing. We have been absent on vacation in the quaint area of Barcelona for the last month. Some catching up with business won’t hurt.

Later on this day we make progress through the busy traffic of Nairobi towards our home. The traffic never ceases , but we know better to start heading home before the rush hour. Our residence has a 14,000 square foot dream house complete with a gym, Movie Theatre, bowling alley, basketball court, pool, and a hair and makeup salon. It also has a wide car park for our Bentley Mulsanne, Lamborghini Aventador, and my husband preferred models. My house is a home! A place full of love and appreciation for our family and our visitors too. It’s situated in the flatlands in the interior of Lavington away from the hustles and bustles that come with the noisy city life. This part of Nairobi is characterized with cool quiet environment and a place where media is rare. There are no disturbances, and my neighbours are lots of acres away. It’s a secure place where my I bring up my family.

Ooh! Please don’t wake me up from my sweet dream. I want to dream on till I get there. I share my dream with the expectation that one day I will achieve all and more. You just never know, life has a lot of marvels and good things happen when we believe. It’s your turn to share with me your dream….
