Due to the changing times in how education is accessed by various individuals, Mount Kenya University has different modes of study. Students can pursue fulltime study, part-time study or distant learning and school based programmes. The School of Business and Public Management offers various degree courses.

Bachelor of Airline and Travel Management

Mount Kenya University offers Bachelor of Airline and Travel Management to individuals with the following qualifications: individuals who have obtained at least a KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus). Those who have obtained a KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) and who have a relevant Diploma can also apply. The course lasts for 8 semesters and it costs Ksh 65,000 per semester.

Bachelor of Commerce

Bachelor of Commerce is an 8 semester course that aims to prepare students for the job market. Individuals who have obtained a mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE or those who have a C- (minus) plus a relevant Diploma are invited to apply for the course. Each semester fee amounts to Ksh 60000.

Bachelor of Economics

Individuals wishing to pursue Bachelor of Economics should have obtained at least a KCSE mean grade of C+ with a C in Mathematics and English or Kiswahili. Those with a relevant Diploma are also eligible for the course. The course takes place in a period of 8 semesters with each semester costing Ksh 60000.

Bachelor of Economics and Statistics

Individuals wishing to pursue Bachelor of Economics should have obtained at least a KCSE mean grade of C+ with a C in Mathematics and English or Kiswahili. Those with a relevant Diploma are also eligible for the course. The course takes place in a period of 8 semesters with each semester costing Ksh 60000.

Bachelor of Economics and Finance

Individuals wishing to pursue Bachelor of Economics should have obtained at least a KCSE mean grade of C+ with a C in Mathematics and English or Kiswahili. Those with a relevant Diploma are also eligible for the course. The course takes place in a period of 8 semesters with each semester costing Ksh 60000.

Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management

The hospitality industry in Kenya is one of the leading sources of income. Individuals who want to pursue Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management need to have at least a KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus). Those with a C- and a relevant Diploma are also eligible to apply. The course is an 8 semester course that costs Ksh 65000 per semester.

Bachelor of Science in Travel and Tourism Management

Mount Kenya University offers Bachelor of Science in Travel and Tourism Management to individuals who have a minimum KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus). Individuals with a C- and a relevant Diploma are welcome to apply.
