Ordinary/Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualifications in the sciences with at least a pass. Science/Technical Diploma from Teacher Training Colleges, or equivalent in sciences with at least a pass. A science/technology degree from an institution recognized by the senate, or equivalent qualifications.

South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU)

This is another public university located in the eastern part of Kenya. It has been able to acquire facilities that will ensure that the students’ educational needs are fully met. The university offers this undergraduate course in full-time mode in a period of four academic years. The minimum requirements that the university require for the successful enrollment of the course include KCSE mean grade in C+ (plus) or equivalent qualifications with at least C+ (Plus) passes in either three subjects of Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Mathematics or at least C+ (Plus) in Mathematics and B- (Minus) in Physical Sciences OR KCSE mean grade C (Plain) or equivalent and a Diploma with credit pass or above. • Diploma in Hospitality management and tourism, the candidate can work as a Hospitality supervisor or enterprise marketer.

• Diploma in wildlife, one can become wildlife researcher, wildlife assistant or wildlife management officer.

Entry requirements

Minimum of grade C- in KCSE or its equivalent, completed and passed a relevant certificate course, three years working experience in a relevant field, KCSE grade D+ (plus) and three years working experience.

Certificate courses for Diploma courses

• Aquaculture Certificate, the candidate can become an assistant in fish farming or an operations assistant in fish farm, you can also get a job with the ministry of fisheries after the completion of the course.  

• Community and wildlife management, the candidate can secure jobs as a wildlife naturalist or field officer.

• Certificate in interpretation and administration of nature, the job offers after the completion of the course can involve field tourism work or tour administration work.

Entry requirements for Certificate courses

• KCSE mean grade of D (plain) or its equivalent, an experience of at least 3 years is applicable where the candidate does not meet the entry grade.

For international courses the fees is US$ 3,500 and it covers Tuition, Field training and full accommodation expenses.
