KUCCPS 2026 Placements: 293,869 Students Assigned Across Kenya
Cabinet Secretary for Education Julius Ogamba announced on July 8, 2026 that 293,869 students have been placed in universities, TVET institutions, and specialised colleges for the 2026/27 academic year through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Of the total, 202,133 students earned degree-level placements, with Maseno University topping all institutions at 9,196 government-sponsored first-year admissions.
Breakdown of 2026/27 Placement Results
Moi University followed with 8,869 and the University of Nairobi with 8,605. Chuka University recorded 7,946 placements. Beyond degree tier, KUCCPS directed 28,246 students to the Kenya Medical Training College and 500 to the Kenya School of Law. CS Ogamba said students can retrieve placement letters by logging into the KUCCPS student portal using their KCSE index numbers.

CS Ogamba simultaneously announced that the Higher Education Financing portal at hef.co.ke would open for 2026/27 first-year applicants on July 10, 2026, with a firm deadline of September 8.
