Despite UDA and ODM being political competitors, he said they came together for the country: “Yes we must have different points of view but bottom line; we belong to one nation. If Kenya succeeds we succeed irrespective of our political sides.” He praised coalition members for putting national interest above personal interest and argued hard decisions mean leaders need not be popular all the time. Delivery of the development agenda, he claimed, accelerated after ODM joined government. Heading toward elections, he said the Broad-Based team will present its scorecard, cast UDA and ODM as the two largest formations, and dismissed the opposition as lacking an agenda. He also pointed to a people-centred national conversation on future development and insisted inclusivity must leave no region behind while the government tackles cost of living.

Civil society should publish a parallel scorecard on jobs, debt and rights. ODM and UDA members should explain the same programme in their own words to their bases.
Without that, “broad-based” risks reading as elite power-sharing dressed as patriotism ahead of 2027.
