DCI Nabs Serbian National in Nairobi Apartment Cannabis Bust

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations' Anti-Narcotics Unit descended on a Nairobi residential apartment on June 9, 2026, arresting four suspects — including a Serbian national and a Tanzanian citizen — in an intelligence-led operation that exposed an apparent cross-border drug distribution network operating from student housing in the capital.

Four Suspects Arrested at Denluck Apartment

Acting on intelligence, ANU detectives moved on Denluck Apartment and arrested Gabriel Moses Mathai, 26, a Kenyan; Gerald Otieno, 28, also Kenyan; Danilo Pejevic, 25, a Serbian national; and Lukundo Samuel Sikombe, 25, a Tanzanian national. Officers recovered cannabis sativa concealed within household items and seized drug packaging equipment: a weighing scale, scissors, rolling papers, a crusher, and packaging envelopes. The four suspects were transported to Muthaiga Police Station pending charging.

What Comes Next

With the four suspects held at Muthaiga Police Station, investigators are working to establish the full extent of the network behind the Denluck Apartment operation.
