Karatina University in Kenya was formerly a constituent college of Moi University in Kenya and recently received a University Charter in March 2013. Karatina University in Kenya was formerly Karatina University College. Karatina University Main Campus is located in Kagochi, which is 14 km from Karatina Town in Kenya. Karatina town is 2 hours away from the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi on Thika Superhighway. To get to Karatina University Kagochi (Main) campus in Kenya, you board a matatu in Karatina Town Magutu stage located near Karatina Open air market entrance. Karatina University in Kenya is in Nyeri County.

Karatina University has a Karatina Town Campus which is located near Karatina Police Station and Karatina Court of Law. The Karatina University Town Campus is located on Telkom Building just opposite the Law Courts in Karatina Town in Kenya. This Karatina University Town Campus is referred to as Karatina Annex.
