How we verify

ZaKenya publishes practical guides and an organisation directory for people who live and work in Kenya. This page is the verification method behind those pages — not a newsroom masthead of individual reporters.

Who writes this

Public bylines are ZaKenya Editorial (the desk). We do not present invented journalist biographies as authors of directory cards or how-to guides.

Guides

• Fees and steps are copied from the official portal or gazette page in force on the verification date, then labelled so you can re-check.
• If two official pages disagree (this happens on passport fees), we quote the page applicants actually pay on and tell you to trust the live invoice.
• We do not invent charges, processing times, or “agent” workarounds.
• When a portal changes, the guide can lag. The verification date on the article is the last time we opened the official source.

Directory

• Phones, emails and addresses are taken from the organisation’s own site or a government contact page.
• Cards we have re-checked show a Verified date. Unchecked cards may still carry older compiled contacts — confirm before you travel.
• Renamed bodies keep the old URL so bookmarks do not break (CCK → CA, ERC → EPRA, IEBC name correction).
• Defunct bodies are removed (HTTP 410), not redirected to the homepage.

What we will not do

• Sell “fast-track” eCitizen, SHA, NSSF or KRA help.
• Put a person’s name on a page they did not report.
• Restore mass AI-rewritten news wires to the homepage.
