Catholic University of Eastern Africa is a private university in kenya which  was started as graduate school of theology, the institute was known as Catholic Higher Institute of Eastern Africa (CHIEA). The authority which begun the school was called Association Member of Episcopal Conferences of Eastern Africa (AMECEA). The member countries of AMECEA are Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda.

The University consists of various faculties which are Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of law and Faculty of Science. The institution offers; Doctorate degree courses, Masters Degree courses, Bachelors degree courses, Diploma courses and Certificate courses.

Catholic University of Eastern Africa has branches in Langata- Karen which is the main campus, branch in Nairobi town in I and M building. The courses offered include Bachelor of Arts in Geography, the duration of this course is 4 years, and the course produces professionals with geographical skills, knowledge in Geographical research, planning of all present and future environment and natural resources. Entry requirement is C+ (plus), a minimum grade of C in Geography and D+ in Mathematics or a diploma of social work from a recognized institution.

Masters of Education, the students are updated to become specialists in the skills of curriculum, requirement for this masters program is 1st degree with a minimum of Second class honors, upper division. Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, this program equips the student with knowledge and attitude needed for the promotion of Science and Scientific related research to enhance human dignity. Minimum requirement for the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology is C+ with minimum of C in biology.

Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics, Masters of religious studies these courses take duration of three years, the minimum requirement is 1st degree on a related field with a minimum qualification of Second class honors upper division.

Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (Sociology), this course equips the student with insights on the organization of the society and its changes, requirements are grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C+ in English or Diploma of social work from a recognized institution.

Masters in religious studies, the students in this field get to deepen their knowledge in religion. The students are prepared to comprehend Christianity in order to serve the society; the graduates of this course will help others to understand religion and its impact in their life. Course entry is any person with Bachelor of Arts in Religious studies or Bachelor of Arts in Theology.

Bachelor of Commerce, the requirements to enroll in this program are minimum grade of C+ with equivalent of C plain in English and Mathematics or one year diploma from reputable college examined by National Examination body. The program takes duration of 4 years; however holders of advanced diplomas of 2 year diploma from recognized institution will take duration of 3 years. There is a 2 year program for those Certified in ACCA, CPS, CIPS, CPA, CIM, CIMA and ACII.

Doctorate PHD in Mathematics, the candidate must possess a related degree with a qualification of Second class Honors Upper division and a masters degree. The application forms are collected at a fee from the administration office.
