With the ever increasing number of students who clear Kenya Certificate Of secondary Education per year, there is a continuous demand of tertiary colleges and universities. Dedan Kimathi University of Technology is a popularly known as Kimathi University College of Technology is a college established in 1978 to cater for a growing education need. First accredited in 2007, Kimathi University College attained the status of a full fledge chartered university in 2012. The school mainly offers courses in engineering, business and computer science. To do this the institution has divided the courses in different departments that include;

  • Telecommunication and information engineering
  • Civil engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Mechatronic engineering
  • Geospatial information and geomantic engineering
  • Electrical and electronic engineering

Entry requirements to Kimathi University College

A minimum aggregate grade of C+ in KCSE with a minimum of C+ in mathematics /physics, English, biology and chemistry for those who would like to pursue a degree program or a minimum of a C grade in KCSE coupled with a diploma in business technology or business related sciences from a recognized institution. For qualification of a diploma course, a minimum aggregate grade of a c plain, with at least a c plain in English and mathematics. The duration of degree courses takes a minimum of four years while the duration of diploma courses take a time period of between 18 months to two years.
