In 2008, Meru Universty of Science and Technology was established as a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Since its establishment, Meru University has been offering various post graduate, undergraduate, diploma and certificate courses. The School of Business and Economics is especially well versed in offering Business and Economics courses. There are several undergraduate courses offered at the School of Business and Economics. These are:

Bachelor of Business Information Technology

Individuals who want to undertake Bachelor of Business Information Technology should have obtained at least a minimum of KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus) with at least a C (plain) in Mathematics and English. who are holders of a relevant Diploma with credit pass are also eligible to undertake the course. The course covers a period of 8 semesters and costs Ksh 50,000 per semester. Individuals

Bachelor of commerce

Meru University offers Bachelor of Commerce under the School of Business and Economics. Individuals who wish to pursue the course should have obtained a mean grade of C+ in KCSE with a minimum grade of C in Mathematics and English. Individuals who hold a relevant Diploma from a recognized institution will also be accepted for admission. Individuals who are CPA/CPS/ACCA/CCP will be exempted from year 1 as long as they undertake the core units as stipulated by the university. The course is an 8-semester long course with each semester costing Ksh. 50,000.

Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies Management

Individuals who want to apply for Bachelors of Purchasing and Supplies Management should have obtained a minimum of grade C+ in KCSE. They should also have obtained at least C (plain) in both English and Mathematics. Those with a relevant Diploma are also welcome to apply. The course costs Ksh 50,000 per semester for a period of 8 semesters.

Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management

Apart from the degree programmes, Meru University offers Diploma programmes under the School of Business and Economics. Individuals who want to pursue Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management should have at least a KCSE mean grade of C (plain) with at least a C- (minus) in both English and Mathematics. Those with a recognized Certificate in Purchasing and supplies Management are welcome to apply. The course covers 3 semesters and costs Ksh 28,000 per semester.

Diploma in Business Administration

Individuals who want to undertake Diploma in Business Administration should have obtained at least a C (plain) in KCSE with a minimum of C- (minus) in both English and Mathematics. Individuals who have a Certificate in Business Administration or any other relevant field should also apply. The course spans a period of 3 semesters and costs Ksh 28,000 per semester.
