Every year there is usually increase number of students who finish their form four education in Kenya after doing Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE) examination. Those who get B (plain) and above at KCSE are normally sponsored by the government of Kenya do pursue degree courses of their choice as a kind of appreciation for working hard while in secondary schools. The privately sponsored student progrmme in Kenya was introduced in Kenya in 1999 as way of accessing education to all Kenyans (both poor and rich people).

Rongo University College (constituent college of Moi University) is among the institutions that allow students who got C+ (plus) and above at KCSE to enroll for programmes under the privately sponsored students programmes (PSSP). This institution is located in Rongo town on Kitere Hill and offers courses ranging from certificate to doctor of philosophy level.

If you wish to apply for any given programme at Rongo University College, there is away to do it. The first thigh is to obtain an application form. These application forms can be obtained from Rongo University College main campus at Kitere Hill. The other places where you can obtain the application forms is from the campuses of Rongo university college and they include:

  • Rongo university college town campus (Rongo town). This is located in Nyasiyo plaza (first floor) which is near Rongo post office in Rongo town.

  • Rongo university college Migori town campus. This campus is located in Msomi Complex in Migori town.

  • Awendo town campus of Rongo university college. This is located in Kodede plaza.

People who cannot be able to reach main campus or other campuses of Rongo university college, can download the application forms from the website at www.ruc.ac.ke. Once you obtain the application form, you will have to fill it and send back to the university (Rongo university college) upon the payment of non-refundable fees by banker’s cheque. The non-refundable fee for diploma and certificate is Kshs.500, Kshs.1000 for undergraduate and Ksh.2000 for postgraduate programmes and it is addressed to Rongo University College.
