Gor mahia is a famous football club in Kenya that operates in Nairobi city and has various nickname such as K’Ogalo, Mayienga and Sirkali. This football club was established in 17th February 1968 and won the first league the same year and are the current defending champions in the Tusker Premier league (Kenya premier league). It was the first club to be formed in Kenya.

They are currently using Nairobi city stadium as their home ground stadium but they are also allowed to use Moi international sport centre for the same purpose. This stadium has a capacity of 15000 people and can accommodate this people at a single sitting. The current head coach of Gor mahia FC is Bobby Williamson.

Gor mahia remains the only club in Kenya to have won African continental title (African cup winners’ cup) up to date. They also remained unbeaten in the league in 1976The various cups won by Gor mahia since it was established includes:

  • CECAFA clubs cup – won in 1980, 1981, 1985

  • Kenya Premier League – won in 1968, 1974, 1976, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1995, 2013

  • Kenya challenge cup/Moi golden cup/KFF cup/FKL cup/president’s cup – won in 1976, 1981, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1992, 2008, 2011, 2012

  • Kenya super cup – won in 2009, 2013

  • KPL top 8 – won in 2012

  • FA cup of Kenya – won in 1964, 1965, 1966

The Gor mahia football club fans foundation known as Gor Mahia Fans Foundation which was found in 2012 to assist in influencing the fans in the management of the clubs and in the marketing of the clubs.
