Egerton University is one of the largest public university in Kenya with its main campus located in Njoro, Nakuru. It offer a lot of courses majorly dwelling in agriculture and has through its development established branches all over the country in major towns such as Nakuru Town, Nairobi, Kisumu and many more towns. It offer different programmes in different levels such as degree, diploma and certificate and it admits students both public and self-sponsored to enroll in their different programmes. The self-sponsored students who are therefore interested in joining Egerton University are opened for application at least yearly as they join the various faculties in this university.

Egerton University has different faculties under which different courses are offered. The faculty of commerce thereby offer the following courses;

Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management, Business Management and Human Resource Management. These diploma courses therefore require the students to have a minimum of C (plain) in KCSE, Division III at KCE or Equivalent qualifications: C- (minus) in Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, or Credit in Certificate in Business administration from institution recognized by the university or holder of Accounting Technician Certificate (ATC) final level. These diploma courses are done in 3 semesters in day fulltime and the tuition fee required is Ksh 72,000 per academic year comprising of two semesters.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Option of Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Operational Management, Procurement and Supply, Chain Management, Business Information, Cooperative and Micro-Financing, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management and Insurance and Risk Management. It also offers Bachelor of Procurement and Supply Chain management as well as Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. For the enrollment of these courses at Egerton University, the student is required to have attained a minimum of C+ (plus) at KCSE and C (plain) in Mathematics, English/ Kiswahili or relevant Diploma from a recognized institution with at least a credit or CPA II. The courses are offered in a basis of day or evening with the full course offered in 8 semesters whereby the tuition fee is 100,000 per academic year consisting of two semesters.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) is also offered under the faculty of Commerce where by the students undertaking this postgraduate course should have attained a second class Honours (upper Division) or Second Class (lower division) with at least 2 years relevant experience. It is offered in 4 semesters and majorly in the evening with a tuition fee of Ksh 120,000 per academic year which translates to Ksh 240,000 for full course as it consists of 4 semester hence two academic years.

M.Sc. Human Resource Management is the other postgraduate programme offered by the faculty of Commerce in Egerton University. This course is one by students who had attained the minimum requirements of a Second Class Honours (upper division) in any of the following: Human Resource Management, General Management, Political Science, Business Administration, or Second Class Honours (lower division) with at least two (2) years relevant experience. It is done in a period of two academic year each with two semesters and the amount of tuition fee required per academic year is Ksh 120,000.
