The Kenya Institute of Management Diploma programs are tailored to facilitate professional management practices necessary for economic and social development of the country and for improvement of people’s welfare.These diploma courses are intended to equip the learner with a wide range of management skills applicable in areas of management universally.The course has six areas of specialization with each area consisting of three sections and total of eighteen taught units.In addition,students undertake research work and undergo industrial attachment of eight to twelve weeks.

-Diploma in Business Management

-Diploma in Human Resource management

-Diploma in Marketing Management

-Diploma in Project management

-Diploma in Public Relations

-Diploma in Purchasing and supplies management

The minimum requirement for a candidate to undertake diploma courses in management may include either of the following:

1.Kenya Institute of Management(KIM)certificate in management

2.or P 1 certificate

3.or CPA 1/CPS 1

4.or KATC final

5.or KNEC Certificate in a business field

6.or Equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions

7.or KCSE meangrade of C+, with C+ in English,C+ in Mathematics/Accounting/Commerce/Economics/Business studies.

Program modalities

Students many attend any of the following sessions:

-Early Morning sessions 6.30 am-8.00 am

-Morning sessions 8.00am-12.00pm

-Afternoon sessions 2.00pm-5.00 pm

-Evening sessions 5.30pm-8.30 pm

-Saturdays and Sundays 8.00am-5.30 pm

A student MUST attend at least 75% of the scheduled time in order to be allowed to take examinations and signing is done in all classes/lessons attended.There are four semester in any given year,January-June,April-September,July-December and October-March.

Examinations done in KIM School of Management

There are various assessments carried out at KIM namely:

-Work based assignments-15%

-Continuous assessment tests(CAT)-15%

-End of semester examination-70%

-Industrial attachment(pass) and research project-100%
