The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) has been operational since 1954 and it continues to help thousands of students to achieve educational excellence in the field of management. Owing to the different courses and schedules, the school’s intake is done in January, April, July and September.

Bridging Course In Management

The Kenya Institute of Management offers a bridging course in management. This caters to those who did not manage to acquire the needed grade of C- and it takes a period of 3 months. The total fees amounts to Ksh 16,000. However, those who want to bridge a single subject pay the amount of Ksh 10, 500.

Certificate Course In Management

Kenya Institute of Management offers a Certificate Course In Management. There are certain stipulations for those who want to take the certificate course in management. • Applicants need to have a mean grade C- with a C- in subjects such as Business Studies/ Accounting/ Business Studies/ Commerce/ Economics or English and Maths. • Applicants who do not meet the first requirement but have gone through the bridging course also qualify to apply.• O-Level Division III• A-Level Certificate• KATC Intermediate level• Applicants who have a certificate in a field that is not related to business are also eligible for the course.• Also, individuals with any other qualification that is equivalent to those mentioned can also apply for the certificate course in management.KIM, Nairobi offers a diploma course in management. This is done in three sections with the second section dealing with various areas of specialization. 

Diploma Course In Management – Section 1

The first section of Diploma Course in Management takes place within a six month period. Applicants need to have the following qualifications:• Applicants should have the minimum requirement of C+ with a C+ in subjects such as Accounting/ Business Studies/ Commerce/ Economics/ English and Maths• Those who have already attained a KIM Certificate In Management are also eligible for the course.• P1 Certificate• CPA I or CPS I• A KNEC Certificate in any field related to business• KATC Final• Or any equivalent qualification from a registered institutionThe total fee for the six month duration is Ksh 31, 500.

Diploma Course In Management – Section 2

The second section of the Diploma Course in Management covers a period of six months. The total fee charged is Ksh 38,000. The course has several areas of specialization including Business Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Public Relations Management, Project Management and also Purchasing and Supplies Management. Those who want to pursue this second section directly need to have the following qualifications:• CPA II or CPS II• Degree from a recognized University• Diploma from a recognized institution in a course that is related to the course of interest.• Those who already have a Diploma from Section 1 at KIM are also eligible take the Section 2 course.• Applicants with a higher diploma are also welcomed to take the course• Individuals who are in their 3rd year or 4th year at a university can apply so long as they provide their transcripts.

As is with the first section, the Diploma Course in Management Section 2 and the Diploma Course in Management Section 3 take a period of six months each. Section 3 is Ksh 44, 000 only. Classes at the Kenya Institute of Management take place from Monday to Saturday.
